You can use this blog in a couple different ways.

You can make it a personal blog that only you can edit.
You can make it a community blog and allow all members of your family, organization, social club, etc. to post new entries to the blog.

Just change the permissions for the blog category of pages under Admin > Manage Site and then choose Permissions on the Site Manager menu.
